ContraFuerte: Concibiendo una Escultura Urbana

Miguel Antonio Horn, artista local de raíces colombianas y venezolanas, estará instalando una escultura innovadora y contemporánea interpuesta en la rampa tipo puente de la 12th y Cuthbert Street, a nivel del Reading Terminal Market y el Centro de Convenciones de Pennsylvania. Horn será uno de los pocos artistas latinos en tener una pieza de arte público emplazada permanentemente en Filadelfia, epicentro artístico que compite con ciudades como París y Nueva York.


ContraFuerte: Conceiving an Urban Sculpture

Miguel Antonio Horn, local artist with Colombian and Venezuelan roots, will be installing an innovative and contemporary sculpture interposed in the bridge-like ramp on 12th and Cuthbert Street, down by Reading Terminal Market and the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Horn will be one of the few Latino artists to have a piece of public art permanently located in Philadelphia, an artistic hub that rivals the likes of Paris and New York.

Congreso de Latinos Unidos educates on health

Last February 27, Congreso de Latinos Unidos and Gateway Health met to address the Spanish-speaking population of Philadelphia, on the occasion of American Heart Month.

The forum, which gathered over fifty people, revolved around the informal lectures presented by three professional physicians. The first, by Dr. M. Angeles Gonzalez-Prado, addressed the unknown and at times undervalued work of general practitioners: preparing the clinical record, performing an analysis, evaluating the risk factors and a long etcetera.
