June 24th, 2022Republicans are still trying to erase the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. And they’re even capable to retrace their own steps.
After an arduous battle in the Senate to approve a proposal considered vile and aggressive against the less wealthy, the GOP has managed to delay the vote in the Senate to incorporate some changes that could convince those skeptical.
Among them, they have included a provision proposed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz that would allow health programs to offer scant coverage options as long as patients have at least one plan that covers the bulk of their benefits. That is, like recommending lukewarm baths against important health conditions.
According to Vox, a media that obtained part of the official document, the insurance industry would be against this maneuver, considering it "unfeasible", fearing that could create "great instability."
The new proposal would also include an additional $ 70 billion package to offset insurers' bills against high-cost patients and allow individuals to use health-saving tax-deductible accounts (HSAs) to get premiums from insurers, that is, each individual must pay more out of pocket for each extra visit or in case of an emergency.
Among other changes, the revised Republican Bill, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act, presents $ 45 million for treatment and recovery of addictions, and tax credit programs with higher deductibles.

Likewise, the proposal allows states to apply for exemptions in the case of improving community services for the elderly, blind or disabled, and for public health emergencies.
Finally, the measure has attempted to improve the focus on high-risk individuals by creating a fund that helps payments in specific health cases, but which will also include specific eligibility requirements.
In one way or another, and although Republicans have given in fiscal aspects contained in its original proposal, the new health project remains a sentence for most Americans whose living costs are not questionable, much less concealable.
