On Wednesday, representatives from several pro-immigrant groups gave Mayor Michael Nutter's office a 48-hour deadline. The group, the Philadelphia Family Unity Network (PFUN), hopes Nutter will decide by Friday whether or not he will will make any changes to an immigration-related executed order that he signed into law in early 2014.

Nutter told AL DÍA he is still weighing a decision.

Neither the mayor nor his deputy mayor were available to receive the request in person. Sergeant Michael Walton, chief of the mayor's protection detail, met the crowd of a dozen advocates on the ground floor of City Hall and promised to hand-deliver their message along with their concerns.

  1. Maintain Executive Order No. 1-14 in its current form, and no city official will cooperate with deportation requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE);

  2. Refuse to hold any citizen or non-citizen under any program without a judicial warrant that complies with due process requirements of the constitution;

  3. Enhance safety and conserve resources in city facilities by prohibiting ICE staff from using city property to detain and interrogate Philadelphia residents, including police stations, prisons and all other city property;

  4. Cease active data sharing with ICE, including ending ICE access to the Preliminary Arraignment Reporting System (PARS) and rejecting participation in Priorities Enforcement Program (PEP).

PFUN will reconvene at City Hall on Friday to recieve an answer from the administration.
