Carlos Bollar is officially sworn in as new President of the Hispanic National Bar Association

Carlos Bollar is now officially the 44th President of the Hispanic National Bar Association.

He was sworn in during the HNBA Annual Convention Gala en la Sala virtual ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 29 led by the Honorable Lourdes Santiago.

Bollar is a partner at Archer Law, where he represents clients in complex toxic tort, product liability and environmental litigation matters. He is also the co-chair of Archer’s Environmental Justice Practice Group. 

He has over 20 years of  experience at Archer, handling environmental litigation cases in all the contexts in which they arise, including single plaintiff cases, class actions, mass actions involving hundreds of plaintiffs, and defending clients against state and federal government.

Bollar has long been a deeply committed member of the HNBA, serving in various Board positions over the years. Prior to becoming President of the HNBA, he served as its Finance Director. He’s also served on HNBA’s Executive Committee, was the past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, and the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey State Bar Association. 

In addition to his legal work, Bollar is also a frequent presenter on topics regarding diversity in the legal profession and issues affecting the Hispanic business community. 

His work has led him to being recognized numerous times. In 2020, AL DIA recognized Bollar as a “Champion of Justice at a mid-large firm” during the annual AL DIA Top Lawyers event. In 2019, he was named to the Nation’s Best List by Lawyers of Color and in 2017, was named Professional Lawyer of the Year by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. 

He was also named as one of the 55 Most Influential Latinos in New Jersey by the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey. 

Bollar is a graduate of Rutgers University, earning both his bachelor’s and doctorate of law from the university. 

The Hispanic National Bar Association is a national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories. The association is committed to advocacy on issues of importance to the 59 million people of Hispanic heritage currently living in the U.S.
