Calling all civically engaged Philadelphians, educators, policy wonks, and thought leaders: Join us on the eve of the 2015 elections for an exclusive opportunity to hear from PA Secretary of State Pedro Cortés about the future of elections in our state.

Secretary Cortés will cover new technologies and tools being implemented to make the voter registration process more accessible and efficient, there will be an opportunity for you to ask him questions directly. Learn how the state of Pennsylvania was able to attract more than 32,000 people to the new online voter registration website.

As Secretary, he leads the Pennsylvania Department of State, which promotes the integrity of the electoral process, supports economic development through corporate filings and transactions, and protects the health and safety of the public.

A native of Puerto Rico, Cortés served as the Executive Director of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs under two Pennsylvania governors. His public service career also includes roles at the Department of Public Welfare and the State Civil Service Commission. Cortés also brings a wealth of legal knowledge, having also served as a partner with the law firm of Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer and Kupersmith.

Cortés has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Hispanic Business Magazine's 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States.
