About this event:

Nation-wide and state-wide research show that Latinx and Black communities face severe accessibility barriers to COVID-19 education and resources. As Pennsylvania looks to slow the spread of the coronavirus by implementing safety guidelines and distributing vaccines, many Pennsylvanians are confused about the vaccine distribution plan and local resources to support them. Join us to hear from AARP Pennsylvania, medical professionals, and community leaders to learn about the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, how older Pennsylvanians – particularly communities of color – are impacted, and resources that are available. (Please register for this event and submit your questions in advance so they may be addressed during the program as time permits.)

During this event you'll learn:

  • Who is eligible in the current phase of the Pennsylvania vaccination distribution plan.
  • What statewide level resources are in place to aid vaccine implementation in Pennsylvania, general COVID-19 education as counties phase towards normalcy.
  • What accessibility barriers the Latinx communities face in terms of COVID-19 resources & vaccine implementation.
  • How community leaders and organizations are working to remove barriers and strengthen trust between marginalized communities and their respective local institutions, governing bodies.
  • What frequently asked questions or concerns are being expressed, and answers to keep Pennsylvanians informed so they can make informed decisions on how to protect themselves and their families from COVID-19.
