Remesas: Fuente de productividad

 04/22/2010 - 17:49

College Dreams Turn Into Nightmares

 04/07/2010 - 14:36

It’s that time of the year when many high school seniors must decide:
which college should they attend? For some, the decision is easy. For
others, like my daughter, this is a major, ponderous decision which
cannot be made merely by reading a website or watching the incredible
DVDS that colleges now provide. Rather, a visit to the final contenders
is an absolute necessity in order to see how each college “feels”. As my
husband and I found ourselves on the road for the second weekend in a
row, headed this time towards the Midwest ( last weekend was Pittsburgh)
and after driving a combined 2,000 miles in just two weeks, we turned
wearily towards each other and asked” “Why?”.

Los "PIGS" y el euro

 04/06/2010 - 02:05

Teach kids to love learning, not just to learn how to earn

Teach kids to love learning, not just to learn how to earn

Whether straining to Leave No Child Behind or Race to the Top, there's
no question that this country's leadership is zeroing in on education
from kindergarden through college. Most specifically, they're working on
the academic gap between the haves and have-nots domestically and on
the gap between the United States and other affluent countries.

Coffee or Tea party? Whatever your cup, roll up your sleeves

Coffee or Tea party? Whatever your cup, roll up your sleeves

I remember my first Tea Party invitation. The "hosts" were a group ofloosely federated regional anti-illegal immigration groups, the occasion
was Tax Day, and the call to action was to "protest to demand the end

of taxation without representation."

The particular bone ofcontention was Gov. Quinn's then-proposed tax increase, described
thusly: "Governor Quinn says he must raise your income tax because he
doesn't have enough money to pay for all the social welfare benefits

demanded by the illegal alien invaders."
