A lot of interesting announcements are making there way out of the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) this year. From the expansion of the popular streaming service Netflix, to the arrival of multi-networking smartphones. 

CEO Mark Fields said in an interview with CBS Philly, that all 2017 cars, trucks, and SUVs will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, designed to be an easy link between dashboards and smartphones. 2016 vehicles with Sync 3 can upgrade to this new addition.

Multi-networking smartphones are also the talk of the electronics show. Some models such as the iPhone 6s are being sold unlocked to any provider’s service. They also come equipped with hardware necessary for handling the voice and high-speed data services of various cell phone providers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Moble, and Verizon.

Currently, there are a lot of phones that come with the new type of connector: USB Type-C, which has more advantages compared to the microUSB connectors that most smartphones use.

Type-C has a potentially much larger transfer rate up to 10 gigabits per second versus the iPhone’s connector speed limit of about 4 Gbps. This should make it easier for instant transfers of large sized photos and HD videos produced by high-resolution smartphone cameras.

Perhaps the biggest news that is coming out of the convention, is that Netflix expanded into 130 countries on Jan 6. This means that the ever popular streaming service is now available in 21 different languages.
