The Philadelphia startup Cloudamize and Google will work together to provide free migration planning for the Google Cloud Platform, but only for companies with 10 or more servers, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal

As the cloud has gained traction in the marketplace, more businesses are choosing to move from other infrastructures over to cloud hosts.

“Before Cloudamize, much of the work around modeling workloads, projecting costs and building migration plans was actually very manual,” Bob Moul, CEO of Cloudamize, said. “By partnering with Google, we are able to offer our powerful analytics platform to simplify, automate, and speed migration planning at no cost to our customers."

Just last year, many Philadelphia companies were still hosted by Windows Server 2003 and had to migrate before security measures expired entirely, reported the Philadelphia Business Journal. Cloud price plans, which range from $10 per month for 24 gigabytes of storage to $960 per month for 1,920 gigabytes of storage at Linode, offer a broad array of options for businesses of nearly every size.

Cloudamize exists to minimize the inconvenience of the migration while determining what plan would be best for each company given their performance needs and cost restrictions.

Based in Center City, Cloudamize has raised $1.2 million in seed funding since its founding in 2012. It is backed by MissionOG, Dreamit Ventures and Gabriel Investments.
