The Philadelphia Union’s 2016 season will begin on March 6 but Philly soccer fans will have to wait for their team to play at home.  

Major League Soccer announced last week that the 2016 Regular Season will begin with what they are calling “a record 10 matches” on day one. The Union will start the season against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The newly renamed Talen Energy Stadium will see the first game of the season against New England Revolution on March 20. The Union finished 9th in the Eastern Conference and 18th in the overall table for the 2015 season.

Below is a list of the games announced by MLS last week:

Sunday, March 6 - WEEK 1
  • 1:30 pm ET – NY Red Bulls vs. Toronto FC (Red Bull Arena) – TSN
  • 2 pm ET – Orlando vs. Real Salt Lake (Orlando Citrus Bowl)
  • 2 pm ET – Chicago vs. NYCFC (Toyota Park)
  • 3 pm ET – FC Dallas vs. Philadelphia (Toyota Stadium)
