AL DÍA News Media held their second annual Journalism Camp from July 7-24, 2014.

During this educational camp, high school students learned about written journalism, video production, photography, graphic design and social media. With the help of AL DÍA News staff members and featured guest speakers, the students received first-hand experience by creating their own journalistic work. Following classroom-style lessons, they were able to go out on the field and practice what they learned about photography and video production.

The students were taken to various places around Center City Philadelphia, including Rittenhouse Square Park, Logan Square and the surrounding areas of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. One of their assignments was to photograph things they found interesting while exploring the city. This exercise helped train their eyes for photography and allowed them to creatively express themselves.

Featured in the photo gallery below is street photography from Jonathan Gonzalez and Charelle Howie, two of the journalism camp students.
