A group of entrepreneurs from New Jersey will travel to Cuba from April 12-18 to to build relationships and business opportunities with leaders in business, education and government in the island, reported NJBiz.
The group lead by New Jersey Tech Council CEO and President James Barroodis is formed by seven business leaders so far. Barroodis is hoping the group will grow not only in size but also in diversity to include Latino leaders.
The objective is to get to the island early after the United States relaxed its policy towards Cuba.
“When the country opens up and people can immigrate more freely, we want to make sure New Jersey is where they think to come to study and work and eventually open their own businesses,” Barroodis said. “New Jersey already has one of the biggest Cuban populations in the U.S.; we want to take advantage of that.”
