Online and mobile food ordering service, GrubHub, hopes to connect more Philadelphians with the food options the city has to offer. The company announced last week that they will be expanding their delivery services into the city.

“Philadelphia is home to a dynamic food scene and GrubHub is thrilled to connect Philadelphians with more of these great restaurants through delivery,” said Stan Chia, Senior Vice President of operations in a statement. “For Restaurants we are excited to provide them with tools and technology to reach new customers.”

Through the service, GrubHub says restaurants will have access to low cost delivery options that they offer. In order to compliment their online ordering services, GrubHub launched a delivery service 2014. Since then the company has grown to serve around 40 different markets in the country. The company has also tested delivery services with some national chains such as Denny’s and Pizza Hut.

"...when GrubHub handles the delivery, restaurants can focus on making great food. The efficiency of GrubHub's delivery service, combined with great food, creates a win-win for local restaurants," the company said in a statement.
