At the height of 'Agosto de Anitta,' the Brazilian star and Maluma have released the new track "El Que Espera" to great fanfare. It comes after "Gata," another highlight of the month, which has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube, and "Envolver," another worldwide sensation.

With this track and video, the singer gives way to an exciting announcement as she is putting the finishing touches on the deluxe edition of her album, Versions of Me, and is releasing a new music video every week in anticipation of the deluxe album.

"El Que Espera," takes over from "Gata," which was released last week, and features Maluma for the first time with Anitta since 2016's "Si no." Fans on social media have already highlighted the chemistry between both artists in the video. In it, they are recording scenes for a movie where they are the protagonists.

Anitta has also been nominated for a 2022 MTV Video Music Award and will also be on stage with J-Balvin. She is nominated in the Best Latin category for her song "Envolver," a historic achievement for Anitta, as the first Brazilian to be nominated for a solo project in the history of the VMAs.

The ceremony will be held live on Aug. 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ at 8 p.m. Anitta has also achieved a Guinness World Record as the first solo Latin artist to reach #1 on Spotify global chart.

In April of this year, Anitta released Versions of Me, which has received praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, The New York Times and NME, among others. The album features 15 songs in three languages, Spanish, English and Portuguese. In addition, it holds the record for the most streams for a Brazilian artist on Spotify, with more than 40 million plays.

Following the album's release, Anitta performed at Coachella, wowing an audience with 45 minutes of music featuring a "mind-blowing mix of genres, highlighting the Brazilian and Latin music that elevated her to stardom."
