When Zahara released her album “PUTA” (2021), many considered it the best pop album in Spanish of 2021. That shocking 11-song LP, which openly denounces millions of cases of harassment, abuse and mistreatment of friends and mothers, was hailed as a masterpiece. With his deep voices, masterful synthesizers and a kick drum that puts rhythm to the injustices sung by her, the singer became a banner of the #MeToo movement.

A year later, it is the turn of “REPUTA”. It will be a reissue of his famous album, which will be released on September 23 and will include reinterpretations of most of the songs of the album, filtered through the big names of the Spanish pop scene.

Among the most prominent names is the mythical band La Oreja de Van Gogh. The band, very popular in the 90s and early 2000s, covered the pop song "Médula". Carolina Durante, the new pop-punk youth sensation, was assigned with “Joker”. Rodrigo Cuevas assumed the interpretation of “Dolores”. For her part, Alizzz was in charge of singing “Berlin U5”. Cora Novoa, Delaporte, María José Llergo, Perarnau IV, PRETTY PRETTY 2000, Extintor Productions, the Ubetense Musical Association and Shego also participate.

According to Zahara, “REPUTA is an album of amazing collaborations by some artists who have broken my heart. They have achieved that on this album, and there are not only versions and remixes, but also songs that, even with the same name as on PUTA, are completely new, both in music and in lyrics. There is a lot of electronic music, but also pop, rock, a municipal band and even reggaeton. And you are not going to believe it, there is also a sense of humor”.

In "PUTA", the singer focused on the consequences of psychological abuse, lack of self-esteem or depressive drift resulting from gender violence. Now, new rhythms and voices will once again give relevance to these issues.

The album will be released on a double vinyl by GOZZ Records, so the 12 tracks will be divided into four different sides. Currently, the singer is in the middle of the “LA PUTA RAVE” tour, where she will visit the Bosque Sonoro stage in Aragón, the Río Babel festival in Madrid, Bilbao BBK Live, the FIB festival and several other cities.

Despite the attractive list of collaborators in this reissue, some fans were suspicious. "I feel a certain reticence about the project, because reissues are rarely good, substantial and necessary, no matter how many guests appear," commented a fan on social media.

In addition to the versions of her 2021 album, “REPUTA” will include the song “La hostia de Dios,” which was released on April 29 to celebrate the anniversary of the release of her successful album.

With her experimentation with pop and electronic music, Zahara managed to generate an impact of unexpected dimensions. The unknown question is whether the new album of versions of her own work will be able to live up to it.
