The Spanish singer C.Tangana, who became popular in the United States for Tiny Desk performances, will release new material on Friday, Feb. 18. In his acclaimed performance from last year, the Spanish singer appeared sitting at a table surrounded by people playing palms, and alongside Antonio Carmona and Kiko Veneno, he performed hits off his album, El Madrileño.

It was the first live performance of his album, as the pandemic prevented him from having performances with an audience. However, it was a success that boosted his career.

Now that the music scene is finally settling in, C. Tangana announced a big tour called, Sin cantar ni afinar, that will bring him to venues and festivals throughout Spain. As an advance to his return to the stage, this Friday he will publish La Sobremesa, an album that collects some singles he released over the last year, with others recorded during Tiny Desk live.

As the title suggests, the album will represent a transition between El Madrileño and his future album. An appetizer to feed his fans while he prepares future projects.

The song list will include "La culpa" (with Omar Montes, Adriel Favela and Carin León), "Ateo" (with Nathy Peluso), "Yate," "Bobo" (with the king of bachata Luis Segura), "Te venero" (with Omara Portuondo), "Me maten" (with Antonio Carmona, from the sessions of the Tiny Desk), "Los tontos" (along with Kiko Veneno, from the Tiny Desk sessions), "Un veneno" (along with Niño de Elche), and "Para repartir."

Stylistically, La Sobremesa looks like a continuation of his previous work.

In his performance at the Goya Awards gala last week, C. Tangana performed "Te Venero," one of his new songs, with Rita Payés. The singer fell in love with the voice of this Catalan singer the first time he heard it on social media.

Other songs included on El Sobremesa have already created buzz. The biggest were "Yate," and "Ateo" with Nathy Peluso — a video with explicit erotic content — inside the Cathedral of Toledo. The video received harsh criticism from the Church.

References to food are constant in the lyrics and videos of C. Tangana. In some videos, he shows off the brand, Casa Maricruz, where the singer has become investment partner. The handmade pieces "promote traditional Spanish ceramics." Again with the new album everything will move around food dishes, drinks and collaborations, also with streaming giants such as Omar Montes, Daviles de Novelda and Canelita.
