Manolo García, leader of the mythical Spanish band El Último de la Fila, still has a lot to say. That is probed with the release of a surprising double album, named "Mi vida en Marte" and "Desatinos plucked". Since the breakup of his legendary rock band, the singer has released eight solo albums. The last one was “Geometría del Rayo” (2018).

As defined by the official statement, it is “another beautiful and resounding pop rock jewel, one of those that hook you from the first listen. And absolutely innovative, which is no less a merit”. During his last tour in 2019, Garcia began to think about new songs during his free time, and the inspiration emerged.

He was recording demos to preserve or discard ideas, and polish his new work. Then came the coronavirus lockdown. It was a period of immersion, where he finished the definition of the album. But once it was over, he went back into the studio, supposedly to add a bonus track.

Surprisingly, he came up with eight new songs recorded at the end of 2021, which shaped the second album “Desatinos desplumados”. It was a simple and pure process: he only had his Spanish guitar, a pen and paper. “More than ever I have programmed rhythms, I have played percussion, drums, guitars… and these two albums are the ones where I finally have more of my own pulse as an instrumentalist, very humble but very sincere”.

García does not lack energy to review texts and try new formulas. In the fall of the last year he was inspired by an unprecedented exercise: recording remotely with musicians from New York, while he was in Madrid. He acknowledged that he liked the result, but not so much the experience.

“That non-physical presence does not lead me to reach the degrees of fullness that I achieve when I am between the bassist, the drummer and the guitarist, to give an example. Talking with them, explaining my ideas to them, and making them part of my euphoria”, he noted during an interview with the journalist Gemma Nierga.

This surprising double album, which managed to sell out the special edition when the presale was launched, has been a breath of fresh air for his career. He searched through old demos -including two songs composed in 2017-, and more than ever he tested his talent. Regarding the collaborating musicians who helped him, he defined them as "wings for the soul of records", whose contribution is "priceless".

Unfortunately, Manolo García was affected by the coronavirus when it already seemed like a forgotten pandemic. The virus affected his upper respiratory tract, producing a dysphonia that forced him to postpone scheduled interviews during the days prior to his expected presentation tour. As he was also unable to rehearse properly, he was forced to delay his first four concerts in Spain.

The rescheduled concerts are those of Valladolid (May 21), Puertollano (May 27), Córdoba (May 28) and Murcia (June 10).
