The Argentinean singer and naturalized Mexican citizen Diego Verdaguer died on the afternoon of Ja. 27 at age of 70 after having been hospitalized for COVID-19. Verdaguer was infected in December, according to his record company Diam Music, and had been fighting the virus since then.

The singer was detected with the COVID-19 virus at the end of last year, for which he was hospitalized. Almost a month later, Verdaguer died of complications from COVID-19 in Los Angeles. The family announced that he will be cremated there.

Miguel Atilio Boccadoro Hernández, known in the artistic world as Diego Verdaguer, was born in Buenos Aires on April 26, 1951, and had a musical career that spanned more than 50 years. He is the husband of Argentine singer Amanda Miguel, with whom he also shared part of his musical life.

Throughout his 56-year career, Verdaguer released 14 studio albums and five live albums. Together with his wife, they founded their own record company called DIAM Music (Di, for Diego; and AM, for Amanda).

The family acknowledged the deep pain caused by his death, and said they will say goodbye to him in private. No more statements will be made, but they did not rule out the possibility of organizing a public event for the media and fans at a later date.
