She dressed in a tight metallic suit, a robot helmwt on her head, gloves and holding a lit torch in her right hand. He, sitting with a vest, a strange antennae protruding from his chest and a serious look. This is how Shakira and Rauw Alejandro announced a surprise collaboration: the release of the single "Te Felicito," coming this Friday, April 22.

“Happy to announce the launch of my new single with Raw Alejandro,” the Barranquillera celebrated on Instagram. With the official announcement, both confirmed rumors that generated buzz on social media over the last few days.

The singer's clothing in the promotional image is related to a peculiar character that will appear in the accompanying music video. In the half-minute preview that was revealed, a robot appears dancing to the rhythm of the song, which promises to be one of the Summer's Latin hits. For now, there are only a few seconds of a reggeaton base.

The white robot caused surprise and confusion among Alejandro's fans. Without any explanation, the same robot appeared as the preview for the most popular videos on Shakira's YouTube channel. Suddenly, hits like "Waka Waka," "She Wolf," and "Perro Fiel" appeared illustrated with mysterious character. Some fans were right in their speculations — a pending collaboration with Rauw Alejandro.

Shakira hopes 2022 is another successful year in what's been a legendary career. Last year, she released her new album Laundry Service: Washed and Dried, where her songs in English “Underneath your clothes” and “Whenever, wherever” stood out. In addition, she was encouraged to try rhythms of Argentine tango in "Te aviso, te anuncio."

Alejandro, one of the biggest urban music artists of the moment, continues to rise in popularity. Now, he is in the middle of his ViceVersa Tour. After playing through Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Peru, the Puerto Rican is back in the U.S., and will end his tour with two performances in Spain.

Just days before the announcement of the collaboration with Shakira, Rosalía's boyfriend premiered his single "Museo." It's a song with a dancehall rhythm, and its substance is full of love and passion, which he dedicates to his girlfriend, who is enjoying her own boom after the release of Motomami.

Alejandro was also nominated for four categories at the Billboard Music Awards: Best Latin artist, Best Latin Male Artist, Best Latin Album for Viceversa, and Best Latin Song for “Todo de ti.”

With both stars releasing the news of their collab at the same time, it became a trending topic, with their fans amped up in anticipation.
