Bad Bunny is having a great time. During a break to rest and supposedly disconnect, he took the chance to release a preview of the single “Vacaciones,” where he surprised with a calm reggae track full of good vibes. On Monday, May 2, he went further announced Friday, May 6, as the day he will release his new album, Un verano sin ti.

The Puerto Rican singer made the announcement while in the sand on a beach in Puerto Rico. In the video, which he posted on Instagram, he appears with his girlfriend Gabriela Berlingeri and Spanish actor and good friend Mario Casas. In the scene, Casas asks for the release date, and Bunny replies that he will announce it soon. At the end, the final date and title of the album appear.

Two years after the release of his last LP, the urban music star will now release an album with 23 new songs. The bar is high — his last album won the Best Urban Music Album award at the Grammys. It seems Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (real name) is committed to releasing new stuff on even years: X100pre (2018), YHLQMDLG (2020), El Último Tour Del Mundo (2020), and Las que no iban a salir (2020).

For now, few details of the new album's content are known. The only snippet is the short minute he shared on Instagram, where he appears enjoying the company of his friends on the coast of his homeland.

“I went on vacation with a lot of beers and songs. A shot for good friends and blessings. And if the day is ugly, you make it more beautiful, I don't ask for more wishes because I have everything I need,” he sang while sailing and relaxing in a hammock.

In announcing the title of the album, Bad Bunny also surprised. A curious offer appeared on a Puerto Rican buying and selling platform announcing the sale of a 2019 Buggatti Chiron car. The seller was a man called Benito A. Martínez Ocasio.

Quickly, dozens of fans called the advertised phone number. The answer was a pre-recorded message, with a few seconds of his new song and an audio message: "Hi! Thanks for calling. There is little time left for the album to come out. I still can't say the date, but I can tell you the name: Un verano sin ti.

Bad Bunny announced on Twitter account that the 23 songs will be a "palo," a term used in the Latin urban world to define a hit. The Puerto Rican bets big: he believes every song will be a success.

His World's Hottest Tour, which will begin on Aug. 5 in Orlando and in which he will perform 21 dates throughout the United States, will serve to officially present his new "palos." He will also collaborate with DJ Alesso and DJ Diplo.
