June 24th, 2022When you see someone dancing tango, it just naturally makes you want to have the ability to do the same one day. But the reality is that time goes by while most of us who are drawn to this distinctive dance fail to take the first step and ‘jump into the ring’.
A month ago, more than 600 people gathered in the Lithuanian Music Hall Association to devote themselves to nothing but dancing tango for four days.
The reason was the celebration of the Philly Tango Fest, which this year shone in its most complete version of the last eight years it’s been celebrated, with 600 tango enthusiasts, 13 teachers, one live orchestra, a café and even a specialized tango store.
These numbers show that Philadelphia’s tango community is getting bigger and that it can grow much more if more people leave their fear and laziness aside and get on the dance floor.
