In a city of 3 million inhabitants and 4 million tourists a year, the offer of pubs, bars and restaurants is endless. Among this wide range of day and night leisure options, the rooftops stand out, and are gaining popularity among locals and foreigners alike.

Madrid is joining big cities like New York in the trend. Although its landscape is not made up of large skyscrapers like The Big Apple, the panoramic views of the capital of Spain highlight its architecture and green spaces.

Here are some of the main rooftops to check out during a visit:

Círculo de Bellas Artes

The roof of the Círculo de Bellas Artes is located 56 meters above Alcalá Street. Visitors will have a 360-degree view of the entire city and can see the well-known attractions Puerta de Alcalá, Gran Vía street, Sierra de Guadarrama Mountain and Cerro de los Ángeles.

The rooftop has a bar and also a restaurant, which requires a reservation. In all cases, to go up to the roof, it is necessary to buy tickets for five euros each.

Mirador Viewpoint

Mirador Madrid is a place anyone wanting the best photos of Alcalá Street with Cibeles Fountain should visit. It is located in the Palacio de Cibeles, which serves as the headquarters of the Madrid City Council. Just like at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, to go up to the Palace tower, visitors must pay three euros.

On the sixth floor of the same building there is a terrace and a restaurant, which are an ideal option for the most gourmet tourists.

Riu Hotel Plaza de España

The rooftop bar of the Riu Hotel, located in front of the renovated Plaza de España, is one of the trendiest places in the Spanish capital. It is on the 27th floor and those who have already visited it say that it is one of the best places to have 360 views of the entire city.

Access to the rooftop is open to people who are not guests of the hotel. The ticket price varies depending on the day and time. More information is available on the hotel's website.
