If there is one of Gaudí's works where nature and architecture work seamlessly, it is Barcelona's Park Güell. What was initially planned as an English-style garden city — hence the name Park — it eventually became Barcelona's most unique public park, and one of its main tourist attractions.

Every year, thousands of travelers from all over the world visit this unique park, where the overflowing imagination so typical of Gaudí's work is evident in its every corner. From the staircase with the famous colorful ceramic dragon, to the hypostyle hall — an impressive space of 86 columns that supports the weight of the large square above it — where concerts and cultural activities take place every Summer.

This year, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the cultural offerings are more ambitious than ever.

Organized in collaboration with the Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA), Park Güell will host a full cultural program during the months of June, July, August and September, with activities that have the history of the city as a central theme.

The Plaza de la Naturaleza will become a great musical stage, and will offer a series of concerts entitled "Music, War and Radio Barcelona," with the aim of recovering some of the works and musical styles that sounded during the Civil War on Radio Barcelona. The free concerts were performed live by the symphony orchestra of the station, chamber and Lied ensembles, as well as dance, jazz and classical music.

The program also includes a cycle of film screenings entitled "Barcelona in movement, film nights," which will feature films with the city as a setting, and its urbanism as a protagonist.

Also scheduled are screenings of classic titles such as Vida en sombras (Light in shadows, 1949), Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and The Machinist. All will be screened in their original forms with Spanish subtitles.

Finally, the park will also offer guided tours in the coming months. Tours will be available at different times in Catalan, Spanish, English and French. Specialized tours will also be offered that will deal with topics related to the evolution of the park, its link with the city and the evolution of the nearby neighborhoods at the beginning of the 20th century.
