Ted Cruz has been tapped to headline a meeting among top-brass conservatives in Pennsylvania next month.
The Texas senator and GOP presidential candidate will deliver the keynote address at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference on April 1 at the Radisson Penn Harris hotel in East Pennsboro Township. Republican legislators, activists, and commentators from across the state will also be speaking at the conference.
PennLive notes that there is some concern as to whether Cruz will still be in the presidential race at that time. Voters are casting ballots Tuesday in Idaho, Michigan and Mississippi. Cruz trails GOP frontrunner Donald Trump in the delegate race, but has increased his national position from 21 percent voter support in January to 25 percent in February, according to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvanians still gave over six weeks until they head to the polls. Election day is April 26, and it's still too early to tell whether Cruz will even be on the ballot by that point.
