Joe Khan, one of the seven Democratic candidates competing for the District Attorney's seat, received a "monumental" support this week. Former governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell stated at a press conference that Khan represents the new blood needed by the Attorney General's Office.

"The prosecution needs an unquestioned and experienced person," said Rendell, noting that his chosen one compiles those scrolls. The ex-governor's announcement came after he met two other competitors: Michael Untermeyer and Richard Negrin, for whom he also expressed praise, despite the fact that he finally decided on the newly known Khan. "I think Joe Khan can play a reformer role in the judicial system," he said.

In a press release, Khan said he was proud and stressed that the former governor's support joins a campaign that has been raising the necessary funds to compete in the middle of a non-election year.

Joe Khan has more than 16 years of experience in the judicial system. He served as deputy district attorney for six years before serving as federal prosecutor for the past decade. He has been in favor of a reform of the system and said that he will support it if he succeeds in becoming the replacement of the questioned Seth Williams.
