The Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition will honor individuals who have been long-term leaders and advocates of immigrant rights in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania through the event “Immigrants Make PA Strong!”
This year’s honorees are:
Cesar Vargas, prominent national leader and first undocumented immigrant to pass the NY Bar
Helen Cunningham, former President of Samuel S. Fels Fund
Jorge Perez Rico, immigrant activist in Central Pa. and board member of Casa de La Cultura, who sadly passed away in June
The organization will also present two awards to community leaders, chosen by PICC's members and partners. “Immigrants Make PA Strong!” will be held at the German Society (611 Spring Garden Street) on Thursday Oct. 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
You can buy a ticket, or sponsor the event, by visiting PICC at paimmigrant.org
