Aiming to create one of the greatest audio archives on migration in the world, “i am a migrant” provides a platform to present the narrative of immigrants in their own worlds. The newly launched campaign was created as a vehicle to fight anti-migrant xenophobia worldwide, by sharing stories of resilience by immigrants globally.

The global campaign is a joint collaboration between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) created “to challenge prevailing unfavourable media and public discourses which have an important impact on public perceptions of migration,” as its mission statement reports.

So far the web features a vast array of profiles from different parts of the world, and creators behind the project are inviting as many people as possible to participate and share their story.
