Malala Yousafzai had just accepted the Nobel Prize in Norway when a man stood up beside her, in front of dozens of cameras, revealing a blood-stained Mexican flag as the world watched.

“Please, Malala,” he said quickly before dragged off the stage and arrested by police, "talk about Mexico." (Other media reported that he added, "they are killing us, remember Mexico." In the video, it's not quite clear because of the applause.)

While there is no confirmation of what prompted the man to act, many suspected that he may have been referring to the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa Normal School in Mexico's Guerrero state who were likely killed at the hands of corrupt politicians and police. Just recently, an analysis of burned remains confirmed the death of 19-year-old Alexander Mora. The remaining 42 students are missing, and presumed dead.

At 17-years-old, Malala, the youngest Nobel Prize winner, is an advocate for children's rights to education, and was awarded along with Indian education activist Kailash Satyarthi. She famously survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban at the age of 14. During her Nobel speech, Yousafzai said that the award was for all the "frightened children" around the world who want peace and an education.

"It is not time to pity them," she said. "I am here to stand up for their rights, to raise their voice."
