Snowden to speak at SXSW
Notorious whistleblower Edward Snowden will join Austin's famous SXSW conference to discuss NSA surveillance and the tech community.
South by Southwest (SXSW), Austin's famous music, film and tech fest, announced a new speaker—Edward Snowden. And the session won't just be for conference-goers in Texas, but livestreamed for free online.
The controversial whistleblower known for releasing NSA documents is still out of the country and will join the conference virtually to speak on a subject where he carries quite a bit of weight—surveillance and online privacy.
Snowden will be joined by Christopher Soghoian of the American Civil Liberties Union to discuss how NSA spying has affected the tech world. The Texas Tribune plans to livestream the conversation on Monday, March 10 at 12:00 PM EST.
