A Daily News article from Friday reported that Former Common Pleas Judge Nelson Diaz sent an email to dozens of people this week arguing that his experience outpaces that of other rumored candidates for the Philadelphia mayoral seat.

The email was sent to former Gov. Ed Rendell as well as Comcast executive David Cohen, among others, and stated that none of those on the spectrum for the mayoral race "have the experience and commitment to Philadelphia that I have exhibited for over 45 years."

Philadelphia has never elected a Latino mayor. So far, rumored candidates for 2015 include State Sen. Anthony Williams, Councilman Jim Kenney and Ken Trujillo.
