Italian Market needs vendors
Merchants of the Italian Market in South Philadelphia are accepting applications for new vendors.
The oldest outdoor market in the country is looking for vendors to preserve its legacy.
On Jan. 1, the city of Philadelphia passed management of the Italian Market to 9th Street Business Association, which is now accepting applications for outdoor stands on a rolling basis.
For around $300 to $1200 a month, vendors can rent up to four 10-foot stands to sell produce and goods.
The association told Plan Philly that members of the community around the Italian Market can sit in on committee meetings to weigh in on vender applications.
