The American Immigration Lawyers Association reports the following regarding H-2B usage for the current fiscal year:

June 11, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of 06/11/10, USCIS receipted 27,778 H-2B petitions, towards the 47,000 beneficiaries target for the second half of the fiscal year. This count includes 26,303 approved and 1,475 pending petitions. Beneficiaries target is the estimated number of petitions needed to reach the cap; it will always be higher than the actual cap.

May 28, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of 05/28/10, USCIS receipted 26,737 H-2B petitions, towards the 47,000 beneficiaries target for the second half of the fiscal year. This count includes 25,570 approved and 1,167 pending petitions. Beneficiaries target is the estimated number of petitions needed to reach the cap; it will always be higher than the actual cap.

May 21, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of 05/21/10, USCIS receipted 26,422 H-2B petitions, towards the 47,000 beneficiaries target for the second half of the fiscal year. This count includes 25,178 approved and 1,244 pending petitions. Beneficiaries target is the estimated number of petitions needed to reach the cap; it will always be higher than the actual cap.

May 12, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of May 12, 2010, USCIS approved 65,498 H-2B petitions of the 66,000 allocated per fiscal year. Currently, there are 784 petitions still pending.

May 10, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of May 10, 2010, USCIS approved 65,307 H-2B petitions of the 66,000 allocated per fiscal year. Currently, there are 828 petitions still pending.

April 21, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of April 21, 2010, USCIS approved 63,673 H-2B petitions of the 66,000 allocated per fiscal year. Currently, there are 1,545 petitions still pending.

April 16, 2010 H-2B Cap Count

As of April 16, 2010, USCIS approved 62,622 H-2B petitions of the 66,000 allocated per fiscal year.

* The beneficiaries target refers to the estimated numbers of beneficiary applications needed to reach a cap, with an allowance for withdrawals, denials and revocations. This number will always be higher than the actual cap.
