A two-year-old movement to spread good news is still afoot across the river in Camden. After a Rolling Stone article sensationalized the city's challenges in what one Rutgers professor called, "poverty porn," Camden residents are bringing back the, "Say something nice about Camden," movement on social media.

The grassroots PR campaign comes two years after a billboard near a homeless camp in the city encouraged passerbys to, "Say something nice," about the place constantly portrayed as crime-ridden, desperate and hopeless. Founded by former Camden worker Jennifer Barton, the campaign includes a Facebook page where people can share the positive and innovative side of the city.

So far the Facebook page has hundreds of 'likes,' wiith recent posts from the likes of South Camden Theatre Company about a new play, Gemeni, which will be attended by the writer himself, Albert Innaurato, at tonight's showing. Another linked an article about Camden High School graduates at Cabrini College outside of Philadelphia, crafting another image of the city not painted by poverty and neglect, but by community and perseverance.
