Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, who just might be Philly’s favorite public official using Twitter, announced yesterday that he will expand the popular #AskKenney Twitter chats across several different mediums. Some include answering Philadelphians questions on television, radio and in neighborhood newspapers every month.

Beginning at 6p.m. on Feb. 9, Mayor Kenney will make a monthly appearance on The Nick Taliaferro Show on 900-AM WURD, where he will take questions from listeners for 30 minutes.

“Giving citizens several different direct lines to their Mayor is an important step towards our goal of making city government more accessible to Philadelphians than ever before,”“Giving citizens several different direct lines to their Mayor is an important step towards our goal of making city government more accessible to Philadelphians than ever before,” Kenney said in a press release. “I’ve been committed to constituent service since my earliest days in politics because I believe that I’m best able to serve Philadelphians when I am personally confronted with their needs and concerns. So, I’m very much looking forward to the expansion of #AskKenney.”

The first #AskKenney Twitter chat will take place at 3p.m. on Feb. 5. To participate, you simply have to ask your questions on Twitter using the #AskKenney hashtag any time before the Twitter Chat begins or while the Twitter Chat occurs, from 3p.m.-4p.m.

Kenney will also answer reader questions in a different neighborhood newspapers every month, starting with The Northeast Times on Feb. 17. Questions have to be submitted by Feb. 12 and can be sent to the Times at [email protected].
