Calling all Latino coders
Hispanic Heritage Foundation wants to mobilize all Latino programmers in the US to come together in the first Latino Coder Summit encounter.
Programmers, or coders, are one of the most important pieces of the new digital industry. However, the presence of Latinos among those working to develop codes is measly, as reports on diversity in some of today’s most important companies in the technological arena, such as Apple, Google or Twitter, confirm.
This is why the Hispanic Heritage Foundation wants to mobilize all Latino programmers in the US to come together in the first Latino Coder Summit encounter.Programming students and professional are invited to gather together and celebrate their passion for technology and the Latino culture.
The event will be held at the University of Stanford, California, on May 2 and will include workshops and discussions in an attempt to redefine the computing landscape from the perspective of Latinos in the US. Those who wish to register for free can do so through this web page.
