Fast-food workers and advocates for raising the minimum wage blocked Arch Street in Philadelphia outside the Broad Street McDonald’s and outside fast food locations across the country Sept. 4. The workers and their supporters demanded a Pennsylvania minimum wage increase from $7.25 an hour to $15. Eleven protesters — among them McDonald’s, Popeye’s, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King and KFC workers — refused to move from the street and were arrested by Philadelphia police.
