Argentine ambassador to the United States Cecilia Nahón visited Philadelphia for the first time to be part of  the Argentinean flag raising ceremony, hosted by the Office Immigrant and Multicultural Affairs (MOIMA).

After the ceremony, Nahón was present during a reception at City Hall on Dec. 5,  in which the community paid tribute to the bust of Jose de San Martin, liberator of Argentina.

The event was part of the third annual Argentine Week, held Dec. 4 to Dec. 6, and organized by the local organization Argentinos in Philadelphia and the Embassy of Argentina in Washington D.C.

Before the ceremony, Nahón met with Mayor Michael Nutter to discuss possible opportunities of collaborations between Philadelphia and Argentina, that included science and technology, particularly biotechnology.
