No warm drinks

“I do not accept comfortable chairs, nor warm drinks”, wrote Marta Minjín when she was 25 year old, “the same age I am now”, the famous Argentinan visual artist said in an interview for Buenos Aires newspaper La Nación in 2014. Marta Mujia, 73, was awarded yesterday with the Premio Velazquez, the highest award for a Hispanic artist. Her works have been exhibited in the Guggenheim and the Walker Art Center, in Minneapolis, among others.

“I do not accept comfortable chairs, nor warm drinks”, wrote Marta Minjín when she was 25 year old, “the same age I am now”, the famous Argentinan visual artist said in an interview for Buenos Aires newspaper La Nación in 2014. Marta Mujia, 73, was awarded yesterday with the Premio Velazquez, the highest award for a Hispanic artist. Her works have been exhibited in the Guggenheim and the Walker Art Center, in Minneapolis, among others. She got famous in 1985, when Minujin staged a performance with Andy Warhol in which she symbolically paid the Pop Art icon 1,000 corn cobs - termed "the Latin American gold" -representing Argentina's foreign debt.
