It was going to be a fun family day for Bernardina. On Tuesday, she, her daughter Dulce and her two grandsons, Nico and Israel, decidied to visit the firework market in Tultepec.
Israel wanted to buy some fireworks to celebrate his hometown popular day, on December 26th. Israel was the "padrino" of his hometown fiesta, that is, the main organizer. Unfortunately, Israel was one of the victims of the explosion in the market on Tuesday. He and Nico died on the run.
Despite the tragedy, the mayor of Tultepec has promised that the firework market will reopen soon. "Fireworks are the identity of our town. The industry employs more than 20% of our population", said the mayor in Mexican magazine Milenio.
