You could be one of these three Irish friends doppelgängers
Oxford Dictionary defines german word ‘doppelgänger’ — literally 'double-goer’ —as ¨an apparition or double of a living person.” It said that in the world there are around seven people who look exactly like you. What are the odds of running into one of your doppelgängers? Not that high if we consider there are 7.125 billion of people living on earth. For that reason a group of Irish friends have decided to ask the world for its collaboration in their search of their look-alikes.
Harry English, Niamh Geaney and Terence Manzanga are the three Irish friends who started to look for their physical copies. To make that search easier they launched a one-month challenge on the internet titled Twin Stranger. They are basically encouraging people to put them in contact with their potentially stranger ‘twins’. The one who finds the closest match wins.
The three friends were inspired by the story of Sophie Robehmed, a journalist who was embarked on the experiment of looking for her look-alike on Internet in 2011, and actually found her — but thanks to a mutual friend not the web.
Less than two weeks until the end of this competition between friends, Geaney seems to be winning. She’s found a girl from England who looks a lot like her. They’ve even met.
The challenge has not only gone viral, it has also motivated a lot of people to look for their own doppelgängers. The original trio have decided to help, and they’ve created a Facebook album where they post the pictures of people who want to find their own look-alike.
Twin Stranger challenge is still on. So, if you know someone who looks like these three friends, send them an email.
