Sorry selfie takers, your selfie sticks are unwelcome.

Coachella and Lollapalooza music festival organizers have announced that selfie sticks are banned from the festivities.

These music festivals are not the only places to ban them.  The Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Palace of Versailles in France,  Rome Colosseum in Italy, etc., are among many of the major venues to implement the ban.

Those who have been fighting against it’s usage cite reasons like blocking the views of other during concerts or shows, people getting accidentally hit in the head with the sticks, as well as the sticks being intentionally used as a weapon.

With various festivals and popular events coming soon to Philadelphia, like Made in AmericaThe World Meeting of Families and the 2016 DNC Convention, it will be interesting to see if the selfie stick gets banned here too.
