Philly ranked one of the best cities for singles
Don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day? Well if you live in Philly, you’re in luck. The City of Brotherly Love has recently been ranked one of the best cities for (straight) singles.
To determine the ranking, financial website NerdWallet considered three factors: the number of unmarried residents, the number of arts, entertainment venues and restaurants per 1,000 people, and the average price of a three-course meal for two and two movie tickets
Philadelphia ranked third on the list behind Washington, D.C. (second) and Boston (first) as “as home to the unmarried, the young and the educated.”
In Philadelphia, 68 percent of the population is unmarried and the average date costs $72, giving the city a total score of 66 and a third place ranking, according to NerdWallet.
“Philly has plenty of singles and a rich arts culture — a big help when it comes to a night out, which is more affordable here than in other major cities,” NerdWallet writes. [link]
