The Philadelphia Police Department has had some difficulty finding diverse new recruits in recent years. But its social media-savvy public affairs team seems to be doing just fine.

During last month's blizzard in Philly, they tweeted out Drake gifs to promote the "No Savesies" campaign, warning Philadelphians not reserve parking spots that have been shoveled out. When the latest Star Wars came out, they warned against the cultural crime of posting spoilers. Sometimes they even poke fun at criminal suspects on their Facebook page.

Their latest innovation involves a plug for new recruits. Instead of a straightforward pitch, the PPD took to trolling megastar Kanye West, who recently asked the world to help pay back his multi-million dollar debt.

This from their Facebook page on Thursday morning:

Here's the full text of the PPD's troll/call to service:

We're hiring Police Officers, and we did the math. With a starting salary of $47,920, Officer West could be completely debt-free by the year 3122! And that's only if he were never to receive a single raise! With a few promotions and cost of living increases, Yeezy could probably break even in a quick 500 years.

Even if you're not Kanye, please consider a career as a Philly Police Officer. You could earn a great living, receive a fantastic benefits package for you and your family, and make a true difference in your community.

This week, Mr. West had what some might call a "Twitter meltdown." Claiming a $53 million debt, he tweet-asked Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to "invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas" [sic]. Critics and fans alike jeered the wealthy musician about this latest public display, including but not limited to big companies like Pizza Hut and Virgin Airlines Australia.
