What is a jawn, you ask? You must not be from Philly. Well, it is anything and everything.
The handcrafted, wooden holiday ornament is the newest item from the student entrepreneurs. The Workshop School is a project-based Philadelphia public school. The school has been nationally recognized, particularly by the White House for building a fuel-efficient fast car.
The “jawnament” has been the most popular seller this season, even though they offer other holiday ornaments.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the idea behind the “jawnament” came from freshman student Michael Best, and the other students and teacher loved it.
"The kids would always say, 'We need more jawns for the orders' - meaning, we needed more snowflakes or whatever," Todd Menadier told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I thought it was really fitting."
Unfortunately, the item is currently sold out. Too bad because that jawn would have been perfect for any Philadelphian.
