Philadelphia pushes back its Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon
Traditionally, it is held on a Sunday during the month of September. This year, however, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon will be pushed back a month, specifically until October 31.
Pope Francis’ visit to the city, to participate in the World Meeting of Families, to be held from September 22 -27, and the resulting number of visitors this event will produce, has forced the organization to move the date of the race to the month of October. Another novelty in this year’s race is the suppression of the 5K event.

Nonetheless, and as ensured on its page, it is only a one-time change. In 2016, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon will again be held on its regular date.
