Paloma Mami and Ricky Martin join forces on "Qué Rico Fuera"
The Puerto Rican singer combines with the freshness of the Chilean Paloma Mami on a new song out on all digital platforms.
Puerto Rican icon Ricky Martin has teamed up with Chilean-born American teen Paloma Mami on his new song and video "Que Rico Fuera." The song is now available on all digital platforms.
At its core, it is a track about joy, explained the Puerto Rican legend in an interview alongside Paloma Mami.
"At the end of the day we are all in touch with our sexuality and we are going to celebrate what we are made of, why not," Ricky said as Paloma agreed.
"Qué Rico Fuera" is the first song of Play, Martin's latest album, and is part of the repertoire of his live tour, with which he plans to travel the main cities of the United States and Canada from September to November of this year alongside Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
Ricky Martin and Paloma Mami collaborate in a mix of genres such as pop, Afro-Latin and urban, which gives the song an original sound for 2021. It was composed by both artists along with Wissem Larfaoui, Kevyn Mauricio Cruz and Juan Camilo Vargas.
"When I got the approach I was so excited. Anyone would have accepted coming from someone so talented."
For her part, Paloma said that the song has a lot of tropical rhythm while her lyrics are very urban.
"I wrote a little sexier than usual and I loved it," said Paloma. The singer was very excited about how her fans would react to the collab. "They are going to be very happy and so is Chile."
"I'm a little obsessed with her work, but don't tell anyone," joked the Puerto Rican about Paloma Mami.
From the first moment of working on the song, he knew it was for her, so they got down to work. The voices were worked on separately and at a distance. It wasn't until the recording of the music video that the artists got to know each other in person.
"The important thing is that we had a great time," said Martin, after noting the good chemistry between the two during the recording of the song. "They are going to want to listen to the song over and over again."
