The Guardian reports that official sources (including the legendary singer's family and publicist) have confirmed that David Bowie has died. He was 69, and had been battling cancer for the past 18 months.
During his 40-year career, Bowie defied categorization — he was a musical chameleon performing everything from glam rock to art rock, new wave to dance and electronica. He was also a style chameleon, adopting personas and looks from Ziggy Stardust to The Thin White Duke.
