Over the weekend, Netflix Latin America's Twitter surprised followers with a version of "Un violador en tu camino," in collaboration with the Chilean feminist collective Las Tesis. In the video uploaded by the streaming giant, the song is adapted for the series Sex Education and the case of Aimee, a character who is sexually abused by a man while on a bus on her way to class.

The video shared by Netflix plays the song by Las Tesis that recently became a protest anthem while viewers see a scene where Aimee talks to her psychologist about her trauma of being sexually assaulted on public transportation. The video already has more than 31,000 views on YouTube.

Although it is an advertisement of the platform, the collaboration between the feminist collective and Netflix was released during the premiere of the third season of the series and received great praise. Along with the positive recognition, it has also generated some controversy on social media.

On the other side, the feminist collective Las Tesis also celebrated the collaboration on their social networks and took advantage of the moment and media attention to question the way the sex education movement has been handled in Chile.

"The content of 'Sex Education' contributes so much more to the sexual education of adolescents than certain negligent people who are incapable of approving the comprehensive sexual education project that we need so much. Thank you for inviting us to do this crossover, because it wasn't Aimee's fault or where she was or how she dressed."

From uncomfortable conversations about sex with young people, teen abortion, self-love, feminism and sisterhood, and the visibility of non-binary trans teens, in the last year, Sex Education has become the series of the moment, not only for teens and young adults, but also for parents and teachers who see themselves reflected in the stories and find in the series a starting point and avenue for intergenerational communication.
