Caila Marsai Martin, born in 2004 in Texas and known for her role in the Black-ish, had an idea in her living room. An updated variable of the archetypal adult narrative that awakens in the body of a child, updated and modernized with touches of female empowerment through a protagonist who is a technology entrepreneur. She shared the idea with the producers of Black-ish, and Kenya Barris gave it the green light.

The rest is history and her film called Little appeared on a billboard last year. She was only 14 when the project went live, making her the youngest person ever to produce something of its kind. Marsai Martin was also not only its producer, but she also acted in it alongside Regina Hall and Issa Rae.

She showed off her Guinness certificate acknowledging the feat on social media and expressed gratitude to her parents for helping her to fulfill her dream. They moved to Los Angeles so her career  could take off. Marsai Martin will also appear in a book version of the story to be published in 2021. It's transformation has been surreal for the young actress.

"It was certainly something very shocking. For me, I never would have imagined being part of something like that. I am more than grateful to be part of this project," she said.

Marsai Martin said a few words to the Guinness Book of World Record for girls her age.

"I hope that all the young Black girls out there really see how a change can really happen, just by being yourself, just by any imagination you have that can run wild. You only live once so go for it,” she said.

With the accomplishment in hand, Marsai Martin's career is still in its infancy. Still, her trophy case is big already, as she has won the NAACP Image Awards nine times. As she continued with Black-ish's seventh season, and now works with her own production company, Genius Productions, which is developing a film called StepMonster.

Peter Cramer, president of Universal Pictures, told CNN that Marsai Martin is "not only tremendously talented on camera, but she offers a unique perspective as a creator and producer that is sure to resonate with audiences." She is also working on Amari and the Night Brothers for Universal and a comedy called Queen
