This is a triple win for Democrats. They got everything they wanted (no second shutdown). They only gave up something they were willing to give up anyway (additional border funding). And, in the process, they didn't have to go along with something they oppose (a wall).

Former Philadelphia City Councilman Angel Ortiz, the first Latino to serve on that legislative body, released a perceptive report in February 2001 that detailed deep discrimination in this city’s public and private sectors that deliberately disadvantaged racial minorities and women.

Politics is making me sick. I have written about pandering, broken promises, partisan spin, opinion polls, situational ethics, flip-flopping, echo chambers, red and blue states and all the rest for 30 years. And it has taken a toll. I've never been more cynical or more distrustful.
